Healing From Traumatic Memory Is Possible...

Do You Want To Break Free From PTSD?

"Breaking free from my Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms, while creating an environment in which the people around me assumed I was okay, was the most difficult thing for me."

I am Dr. Bill Tollefson and like you I suffered from PTSD from childhood abuse and trauma. My flashbacks robbed me of success and happiness. In my case, the frightening events I suffered through caused me to form negative beliefs about myself, and I could not break free. As a result, I didn't like me. Each event changed me into someone I didn't know. Between the memories of the past and the recovery I enjoy today, there is a huge grey area. I know that PTSD thinking can be very polarizing, and this habitual form of thinking can make you view yourself in all or nothing terms. For example, you might see yourself as: good or bad, deserving or worthless, living in the present or stuck in the past.

My formal education led me to a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. I have certifications as a board certified hypnotherapist, certified reality therapist and board certified clinical psychotherapist. I have been trained in specific techniques such as hypnosis, neuro linguistics programming, and EMDR therapy from some of the best clinicians in the country. With each program I studied, I still was unable to find a way to heal my own pain.

While searching something that would take away my flashbacks, I found these techniques to be a temporary fix or band aid. The flashbacks soon returned, and my life spiraled downward. No matter what I did, the memory couldn't be erased; it had happened, and it was recorded in my brain. I knew that the content or fact of the event was not doing the damage to me. It was the intense emotional charge that hurt.

I finally discovered the secret. It was while I was directing an inpatient trauma treatment center for women with dissociative identity disorders that I discover the technique that would release a survivor from the emotional charge and intensity of the traumatic memory or flashback. This was the beginning of Rapid Reduction Technique® known as RRT®.

Rapid Reduction Technique® is memory management skill that removes the emotional charge and intensity of your flashback or memory. RRT® allows your brain to protectively revisit, process, reset, and make emotional closure. Once the RRT® is completed, the memory is placed into the long-term memory bank without the emotional charge. Now, if the memory is pulled up into consciousness, it has no emotional effect.

RRT® can help anyone break free from the grips of traumatic memory and PTSD syndrome. Don't allow your past to dictate your future. Rapid Reduction Technique® has been proven to help anxiety, fear, stress, self-esteem, and depression due to traumatic flashbacks and memories. Call now and get more information on healing from PTSD.

Dr. Bill Works Miracles in People's Lives
Dr. Bill Tollefson has an uncanny ability to connect with people. He worked the miracle in my life in 1992, and I could not be more grateful. If you have stumbling blocks, from severe PTSD to "just can't get it all together," Dr. Bill is the solution. My life changed dramatically.
Life Transformation
Dr. Bill has truly helped me transform my life! His kind, caring, personal interest is combined with his wealth of knowledge, insight and experience. The techniques he has designed and utilizes are highly effective! I have reached heights I never before imagined by our work together! Words cannot express the depth of appreciation I have, and how fortunate I feel to have him as my coach.
The first time I met Dr. Bill and learned so much from him. He taught me how to look at things in a new way and also pointed out to me that holding onto the clarification notebook and reading the mini letters within the three-inch binder were just re-traumatizing me. That was when I shredded one page at a time, no longer allowing myself to read and hold onto the past. To this day, I am shredding potentially damaging papers that I find around my place. I cannot change the past, so why hold onto things that are not healthy for me? Why waste all my energy dwelling on what happened to me, when instead I should be looking at how much I have accomplished in spite of all that trauma?
The keys to success are hard work, determination, and perseverance, having a support system, and knowing when to ask for help. I now believe that anything is possible, and that challenges can be overcome. Taking the time to see my life in a whole new perspective gives me a greater appreciation of what my strengths are, as I continue on with my journey towards recovery.
I have to attest my feelings. I have directly experienced Dr. Bill's coaching. I was in a terrible self defeating place in my life. I lost everything, became homeless and was doing everything wrong in my life. I knew I had to change or continue to be a failure. I reached out to Dr. Bill and submitted to his program. After a short time of going through the 1st Level of his Personal Philosophy program and his R.E.S.E.T program my life has begun to significantly change. I got a job and my mindset is shifting. I envision my life and feel completely different. Dr. Bill is a powerful coach who coaches from his heart and has a highly evolved knowledge of how to help people reach what they want for themselves. He is a true genius. Thank you for my life again Dr. Bill. Lynn F, Miami, FL
I would like to thank you for the work we did on the phone the other day. The RRT has always worked very well for me but the eRRT2.0 was even more successful in fact it was so successful that just a few days following it I barely remember what trauma we worked on or the steps we used in the procedure, and am feeling much better. Thanks again. H
"Words cannot express the major life changes I have been able to accomplish in a very short period of time with the help of life coaching with Dr. Bill. He has helped me both emotionally and practically to make hallmark changes in my life in dealing with issues I have been addressing in therapy for years. Dr. Bill has assisted me in effectively coping with major physical, emotional, medical, legal, financial and spiritual matters to name a few. His specific suggestions have been able to be effectively applied not only to the matter under consideration, but on a larger scale in other aspects of my life as well. By way of his precise and concrete feed back to well designed writing assignments given by him, I have been able to move forward in my life in ways I never thought imaginable. He has helped empower me in my life and reclaim it as my own on so many levels and in so many ways.

Combat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Is Reaching Epidemic Levels for American Veterans

The percentage of veterans returning from the two Middle East Wars has reached epidemic proportions. The Military defines PTSD as a character weakness and hides the rising percentage of sufferers from the American public. So far, the only stress management techniques offered to veterans with PTSD flashbacks is hospitalization and medications (which does not help and can make PTSD symptoms more intense) or the system blatantly rejects the fact that there is a problem.

Understanding How The Brain Treats Trauma

Many years of research into how the human brain processes memory, has proven that traumatic memory is treated in a different manner by the brain than non-traumatic memory. Traumatic memory is treated differently because of the painful emotion that the brain was unable to deal with at that time. At some point the brain sends the memory back into consciousness for closure. This action by the brain is called a flashback.

Flashbacks do not occur to hurt or injure the individual, but to make closure. Yet traumatic flashbacks are painful and seem real. In the past, suffers of flashbacks were told that he/she would have to grin and bear it, just get over it, deal with it through many years of therapy, medicate them away or lastly it was something they would have to live with.

Now there is an alternative for PTSD flashbacks. There is a Life Coaching Method known as Rapid Reduction Technique 2.0 (RRT 2.0) that actually helps veterans significantly gain relief from the emotional impact of battlefield memories and PTSD flashbacks.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

What is Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)?

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is simply the after effects of experiencing an abusive or traumatic life event. PTSD is classified as an anxiety disorder. A traumatic life event is something that happens which is perceived as horrible, emotionally overwhelming and terrorizing that happens directly and personally to you or an event you witness. Simply put trauma is an invasion of self. During this type of life event, you perceive or think that your life or others' lives are in danger. You may feel afraid or feel that you have no control over what is happening. PTSD symptoms are a latent reaction, the residual effects, to a past overwhelming emotional life event; an experience of loss. PTSD symptoms mimic many other diagnoses. PTSD is certainly far more widespread than most people realize.

There are three types of PTSD; 1.Primary- when the event happens to you, 2.Secondary- when you witness a traumatizing event and 3.Complex- where abusive or traumatic life events are severe and repetitive over a long period of time.

There are other life events that could produce PTSD symptoms to one degree or another may be overlooked or under estimated such as:

What are the symptoms of PTSD?

The onset of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms can be terrifying and surface without warning. PTSD symptoms disrupt ones life and make it hard to function in daily activities.

PTSD symptoms can begin soon after the initial shock wears, may not surface for months or years later. The intensity and frequency also may come and go over many years, depending on exposure to triggers. There are four types of symptoms: reliving the event (recollections, re-experiencing or flashbacks), avoidance, numbing, and feeling hyper vigilance (intense anxiety and fear).

Secondary mental, emotional or behavioral symptoms may occur such as emotionally acting out, anger, confusion, depression, drinking, drugs, fear, guilt, immobilized, inability concentrating, rapid respiration, relationship problems, shame, sleeplessness, sexual difficulties, and tachycardia. If these symptoms or feelings don't go away 4 weeks or they get worse, seek help.

Stop Thought Addiction ...Reduce Relapse And Move Forward!!

Wouldn't you just love to stop your mind's constant looping of negative thoughts? Do you think too much?

After an event happens in your life, do you get caught in a thinking loop of "I could have, I should have, I might have or I was wrong" and does it affect your mood, your relationship with others and your whole day?

Maybe you have a thought addiction.

Thought Addiction Is Where All Types Of Addictions Begin

Thought addiction is the seed of all known addictions whether it is from a substance or behavior. Thought addiction follows the same rules and damaging relationship development as every other addiction process. Continuing to focus on any particular thought creates a habitual pattern that can wreak havoc on a persons life. Little is known about thought addiction but I believe it is the key element of any addiction. All addictions starts with the a thought first I think I need I want or I deserve. Thought addiction is real. It can consume and devastate someones life.

Can there be an addiction to a thought?

By definition yes it can.

The definition of thought addiction is the development of a habitual pattern to one thought or set of thoughts. Thought addiction is the returning to a thought that does not serve the individual and has damaging results that depletes every system of the body. An addiction to a thought produces a rapid and intense change in mood and causes a painful withdrawal when there is an attempt to stop.

Making a Positive Change

Are you stuck in life with no direction?

Do you need help releasing what has been blocking you from achieving what you have always wanted out of life? I have a way. I have created a personal development, online 30 day program that will guide you through your own personal philosophy and help you sort out what has been holding you back. I have studied many self improvement techniques throughout the years such as neuro linguistics programming exercises or nlp as it is referred to, hypnosis training and EMDR-. But it wasn't until I began studying life coaching and really looking at just what personal philosophy is and how it can control how we think, act and feel that I was able to put the pieces together. It was this discovery that led me to creating this 30 day program that has helped so many people get on the path to breaking past the barriers that have held them hostage for so long.

Are you ready to feel more confident and look at life in a different way?

beach "Before I took the 30 day challenge I felt like my personal growth had been stunted. I had no direction and certainly no self-esteem. Once I made that promise to myself to look at my barriers I just couldn't stop. I knew I had to finish this and move past "my past." It took 30 days , only 4 short weeks to finally feel as though I understood who I am and that it is my choice to be happy and successful. I can actually say out loud, "I love myself!" I have learned to treat myself better because I deserve it! I am having "fun" travelling, seeing places I have always wanted to see and loving life. Thanks. - Lois Shaffer - Moline, Illinois

"Now Is The Time" to get serious about making a positive change in your life, and start having more command and freedom. This 30 Day Positive Life Challenge will be the most important thing you'll ever do this year (and maybe in your entire life). You will begin to gain confidence and feel more self worth the more you delve into what your personal philosophy is all about.

"This is the best and most successful self-help program I have created to date to guide you through personal changes" - Dr. Bill Tollefson

Rapid Reduction Technique 2.0®

Flashbacks are reported as the #1 worse symptom of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD, and yes, in fact, PTSD flashbacks can be healed. When an individual who suffers from PTSD is triggered, it can cause the person to "re-experience" the traumatic event all over again. Veterans returning from combat with PTSD syndrome also commonly report anxiety symptoms and complain of frequent battlefield flashbacks from their experiences of war.

The effect can cause a survivor to feel that the traumatic event is occurring all over again, as well as causing an increase in feelings of fear, stress, anxiety and depression. Flashbacks also create a decrease in self-esteem, self-limiting thoughts, increase in core beliefs and significantly lowered confidence levels. A survivor will feel as though their life has been turned upside down, are not the same person and fixated on thinking about it.

There is a stress management life coaching skill that I developed called Rapid Reduction Technique 2.0® or RRT 2.0® is an effective trauma treatment. RRT 2.0® can guide survivors to alleviate the emotional pain and intensity of flashbacks from abuse or trauma in one session. When used on a flashback, RRT 2.0® is safe and effective. Rapid Reduction Technique® method will empower a survivor's brain to achieve closure as well as reduce stress and emotional impact. RRT 2.0® is a stress Life Coaching self improvement skill that helps a person to revisit, reset, and heal the traumatic flashback. Once closure is made on a traumatic flashback, the brain can take the flashback out of dissociative storage, integrate it, reduce the fear and then place the recorded memory minus the emotional charge into the long-term memory bank.
